Design Brief Checklist

If you’ve worked with the designer / team before, of course, they’ll know a lot of the context already, so you’ll be able to skip some steps. But especially when you’re briefing designers for the first time, things like target audience description, brand guidelines link, preferences are super important.

🎯 Section 1: Project Overview

[ ] Project name and description (2-3 sentences)
[ ] Project goals and business context (Why are we creating this? What problem does it solve?)
[ ] Target audience profile (Demographics, needs, pain points, behaviors)
[ ] Distribution channels and formats (Be specific: "1080x1080px Instagram carousel")

🎨 Section 2: Design Direction

[ ] Brand guidelines link or attachment (colors, fonts, logos) - if not available, ask magier to create them for you
[ ] Mood board or visual inspiration (3-5 reference examples with notes on what you like)
- [ ] You can prepare a mood board in Figma, Canva or even Pinterest if you like. Depends on what you use.
[ ] Design preferences (Style, tone, look & feel you want to achieve)
[ ] Key message and call-to-action (What's the ONE thing users should remember/do?)

✍️ Section 3: Content & Assets

[ ] Final approved copy in order of appearance (including any translations)
- If its an Instagram carousel you can write: “Slide 1: [Insert copy], Slide 2: [Insert copy], etc.”
[ ] All required visual assets in high resolution (Product photos, team headshots, icons)
- [ ] I suggest using Figma or Google Drive and add all assets there
[ ] Brand assets / Brand book link (if not available, ask magier to create one)
[ ] Compliance requirements (Legal disclaimers, trademark rules, required elements)

📐 Section 4: Technical Specifications

[ ] Deliverable format (Print: CMYK PDF, Web: RGB PNG, etc.) - if unsure, ask your designer
